CD Changer 850

I have a '96 850 turbo with the SC811 radio cassette, and have installed the Volvo factory 6 cd changer in my glovebox. It works fine but I have 2 questions: 1-Is there any setting which remembers where you were on the CD at power off? It is extremely annoying to have the CD restart every time I get in the car, and 2- It skips alot, do I need to try to level it? Or put some sort of foam or spring material under it to cushion it?
