I just did a major service on my Dad's '93 850 GLT with 113,000 miles.
It still had the original cap & rotor, plug wires, and fuel filter. I believe that the plugs were replaced at 30,000 miles.
It was running fine, not missing or stalling. My Dad's motto is, "If it ain't broke..."
The rotor was worn down to a nub and the plugs were showing their age.
I replaced all of the above items and with that, it runs a lot stronger.
My question is, was there any harm done to the engine with such a gross lapse in attention to service?
BTW I flushed the tranny at 90,000 miles.
Volvo does make a fine car.
Thanks.
