Kumho 716s on 15' S70 wheels. Great ride 850 1995

Rather than buy another set of 16" tires for the 855t my wife is taking over, I picked up a set of barely used 15" Volvo S70 Antalia (?) alloys and moved from the 205/50X16 to a 195/60X15. Tirerack had the Kumhos at my house in two days as usual and this morning carried the wheels and tires to Wal Mart where they mounted and balanced them in 15 minutes. I was there when they opened and two guys on two machines made short work of it. $45, lifetime rebalance.

What a difference! The car is very light at the steering wheel, the added sidewall height really smooths out the ride and they are MUCH quieter than the directional RE730s I pulled off.

It's been raining all day and I had a chance to hard brake in the wet and they're great.

Here's the skinny:

4 Kumho 716s in 195/60X15 $175.00 delivered.
4 S70 Antalia pull-offs via Ebay $300.00
Mount and balance $45.

Grand total $520

I would have paid that for buying and mounting 16" tires that would be ride harshly, be noisy and be marginal in the light snow we get. The topper? I'll sell my 16" wheels and tires for enough to cover the conversion completely.

Life is good!
