The driver's door courtesy light doesn't always go off when the door is closed. And sometimes, it comes on when the door has been closed for awhile. If it happens while driving, the key reminder chimes.
My Haynes manual mentions that it is incorporated in the door lock assembly with the central locking motor. They also recommend that the repair/replacement of the switch, which requires desoldering and soldedring, be handled by a dealer to avoid possible damage to the locking motor.
Is there any way to adjust the switch or it's point of contact? Does anyone know what activates or presses against the switch to turn off the light and the chime? Has anyone tackled this problem before? Any advice would be appreciated.
TIA.
