Oil level too high and now there are problems Please help s70 t5 S70 1998

Being a new driver and all seeing Lucas Oil Stabalizer at the local Auto shop I had to have it. Well i drove around a while and decided to add that crap in there. So looking at my dipstick i thought i was about quart low. So i added a quart. Then i take a look at the dipstick and notice that i over filled.
(_|<-l.5l->_)* That being the dipstick i was right at the top where it arches. I dunno how much i overfilled by. But it ran fine afterwards for about a week and a half till it started to smell like it was running rich, and then it started to putter and die. It started when i was stoped at a light and it just puttered and died. I got it started and got home but once i was home it would not idle for long. I had to rev the engine to keep it alive. I gave the car a tune up thinking it was about time 90k, but that did not solve the problem. Could the placing too much oil be the problem? O yeah the car is a 98' s70 t5. I heard that adding too much oil could lead to it getting into the induction system and cause symptoms just like that but i dont know. Pleas help.
