Volvo 850 Reliability vs. 240... 850

I have a 1990 240 DL sedan that I love, but I'm looking to buy a wagon.

I like the look and versatility of the early/mid 1990 850 wagons. I will only drive a 5 speed, so in particular I'm interested in the reliability for the 1993 - 1997 years. I think Volvo stopped making the 5 speed in 1997. (except for "R" model).

I would probably only buy the non-turbo version.

My 240 has some quirks, but it keeps on driving. I have heard that the 850's have problems...especially the electrical system.
