freakin front end thumping V70-XC70

well i just replaced my struts and shox includung mounts and installed a new A frame/ ball joint assembly.still there is the clunk sound over bumps coming from right front.also there is considerable play (about 1/8" or so)when i grab the front wheel at 12 and six o'clock only. (not at 9 to 3). the wheel bearing makes no noise at all under any conditions.before i drop $200 on a wheel bearing ,anybody got any ideas as to what it is?
