Well Lads,
After 2-3 minutes of normal heating, the REC/AC lights start flashing, and the heat on the passenger side completely shuts down. (Electronic Climate Control).
When I first started investigating the problem, the diagnostic for heating and cooling gave me numerous fault codes. 1-3-3, 1-3-4, 2-2-1, 3-2-1, 3-2-5, 4-1-8, 4-1-9. The previous owner had an evaporator installed about a year ago, and I'm thinking the fault codes were never deleted.
I pulled, checked and cleaned the passenger side internal temp sensor and fan, and decided it was functioning properly. Got about a 10 ohm resistance with my volt meter, and the fan is running well.
The Haynes manual suggested erasing the fault codes after they are read. So I deleted them and check again after running the system. Now I'm getting a single fault code of 3-2-5, indicating "Recircualtion damper motor active too long."
I pulled the glove box compartment and watched the recirculation damper motor as I turned the middle dial to it's various postions. The damper opened and closed when the dial was in the 3 o-clock postion, for example, but doesn't activate when toggling the REC switch.
I'm stumped.
