cruise controll 96 850

Hello all,
I recently purchased (about 10k ago)a 96 850glt and the cruise controll has never worked, I checked the fuse but that is about all i could think of. No dummy lights come on when the switch is in the on position or when i try to set the speed. Any suggestions would help.
