Question about changing drive axle... should ATF be leaking out? 850 1995

I'm removing the right side drive axle on an automatic to replace the cv joint, should tranny fluid pour out when I remove the drive shaft from the transaxle? If so, is it ok to just top off with ATF when I reinstall the drive shaft? This is the first automatic I've ever owned and not sure what to do here. The manual says nothing about fluid leaking out of transaxle, it does say to pull the shaft out of the transaxle, though.
