Headlight bulb replacement S70 1998

My 98 volvo has 37k miles. It in prestine shape. my wife drives it mostly and at night she is complaining about visibility. Right now they are not bright. I am sure its normal becasue I am used to xenons in my bmw. Are there any replacement bulbs which would shine much brighter and clearer than the original orangeish type light? I really dont want ot install an aftermarket xenon kit not only because of price but reliability.
