AC/Heater Blend Door - Air Box problem S70

Regarding Blend Door - Air Box (AC/Heat) controller on 1998 S70, I've been having problems for the past year trying to control automatic and manual climate (air conditioning and heating). The driver side seems to not get adequate AC or heat no matter the thermostat setting and ditto for defrost. Airflow seems okay. We've disassembled the unit twice and checked for errors... none noted. And the gears seem to be meshing properly. When reassembled, the only telltale sign is a clicking noise inside the vent indicating the airway door is not openning properly.

Any ideas on this? Is there a reset capability if we take it in to a dealer?
