Fitting larger rims S80

Hi All
I have recently purchased an S80 in Malaysia and its fitted with standard 15" wheel rims,I was thinking of fitting 16" rims or even 17" but someone told me that this will cause problems unless I get the cars electronics reflashed by Volvo.Anyone got any advice on this? The model is a 2000 2.0T...thanks in advance
