Cannot remove key from ignition V70-XC70

My key is stuck in the ignition and I can't get it out. I cannot turn the key to the "0" position. The key turns to within 1 mm of "0", but not all the way.
I have fiddled with the shifter and the button on the shifter knob since this was the cause of a related problem some months ago, but it's not helping this time.

Also have noticed that I cannot depress the "W" mode selector button. (The Sport and Economy buttons press down, but not the Winter mode button). I wonder if these two issues are related.
