More crazy A/C questions.... 850 1996

Our Turbo Wagon's A/C acts up lately. It will be blowing cold and then all of a sudden blow hot air, then go back to cold again. Could compressor be going out?

Also when A/C off and fan off, hot air blows in through vents. It is not the outside air coming in as it is much warmer than outside temp.
