I have an 850 96' 83k
ABS light use to come time to time and ABS brakes use to work time to time but after i have cleaned front brake system ( calipers ,etc.)thoght it will help to get my abs brakes back to normal work- abs light seems to be on all the time and abs brakes do not work all the time...
Before my abs worked next way : every morning when i strt up my car,i was not able to switch my stick(auto) on any other position except "parking"after a few secs everything was fine, abs light on,then i need to backup a litle and then after i stop my car to switch to the "drive" i could hear a soft clunk noise (looked like sound was coming from the right wheel side and sound was like wheel being released from brakes.)and after that my ABS worked as it should.
One friend of mine adviced me to put red thermo grease on the back side of my brakepads (both pads ,both wheels) to eliminate squealing so i've done so...squealing reduced ,but that wont help abs brakes 8-( i've applied grease on both pads one of the pads touch caliper. Is this ok that crease on it? its not like i've put grease everywhere on the caliper and surrounding just on the pads.
also i've used a rag to clean my hands from the grease and i've used the same rag to clean "slide pins" and "slide pins channels" is that makes sence if grease will get on the slide pins and channels?
I've pulled both ABS sensors out and cleaned them too with the same rag.( i believe they work on the magnetic principle so even if any fatty film formated on top of sensor that wont do any harm ) got them back in the same spots all wire klemms connected properly,ABS still does not work.
Some of you might think this guy uses one rag in everycase in his life-i will tell you that rag was a white old towel not dirty at all, even if i've got some grease spots on it,it was "sanitized" if compare to ones i've seen in local shops.
if anybody got any idea... thanx a lot
