98 overheating (no coolant light comes on but there is coolant in there) S70

I have a 98 s70 with 260000 miles but in mint condition. All of a sudden my "no coolant" idiot light will come on periodically and I will overheat but my coolant level is perfect. Has anyone witnessed this problem or does anyone have an idea why this would occu, and suggestions on how to fix.
