Front Suspension Noise S70 1998

Anyone out there with any experience in getting rid of 'cluck..cluck' noises coming out from the front suspension (1998 S70 T5) when going over almost anything - small bumps, depression etc? Noise is worst when the weather is cooler, and can totally absent on a very warm day.

A mechanic claimed that the strut mount is worn. Can this metallic part be worn, or just the strut mount bushings or control arm bushings?

Thanks in advance for any tips.
