This weekend I replaced my shocks, struts and anti-roll linkage w/ Bilstein HD's. I torqued everything properly. My car immediately developed a low-volume "clicking" under light braking and right hand turns. The sound is from the front left. No noise w/ heavy braking. (yet?)
I used generous amounts of WD40 and penetrating oil (to loosen the old strut bolts)and also contourted the suspension/ drive shafts slightly.
Did I eat away the grease in the cv boots with the WD40 & oil? Or ruin the CV joints? Is it something else?
Thanks in advance.
I'll update all on the problem.
ps. if you're going to tackle your front struts... replace the "bottom-out bumper stops" and the front strut covers with new ones. The bilstein's do not come w/ new ones.
