Although this is short notice, I wanted to let you know that the Washington Volvo Club (WVC) is organizing a visit to Speedtuning in Spencerville, Maryland this Saturday April 19, 2003.

Speedtuning is a European manufacturer of aftermarket performance parts, including ECU chips for Volvos. I understand they have ECU upgrades for all FWD/AWD Volvo series, starting with the 850 series. Their upgrades cost $300-400, and we may get special pricing on orders placed during the visit tomorrow.

The WVC promotes the enjoyment of Volvos by their enthusiast owners. These informal visits are a great opportunity to learn more about our cars and their tweaking. This Saturday visit will allow us to learn a lot about ECUs, computer engine management systems, and performance modification of factory settings, particularly "chip tuning".

This visit is open to non-members, so feel free to join us. We will meet at 9:00AM at Speedtuning, which is located at 2201 Spencerville Road (Md Route 198), Spencerville, Maryland. Spencerville is between Baltimore and Washington DC. Directions are as follows:

1) Coming North from Washington, from the Beltway 495 take Exit 30, Colesville Rd (MD Route 29) North. Turn left onto MD-198 West, the Burtonsville Road. Speedtuning is about two minutes down the way, on your left.

2) If you are coming South down Interstate 95 from the Baltimore area, take Exit 33B, onto MD-198 West. Follow it across Colesville Road, and look for the shop on the left.
