Defeat Shiftlock Micro-switch 850 1994

It appears from all that I have read, that my shiftlock micro-switch is going bad and will need replaced. I do not have the electrical schematics, but what would happen if I shorted together the two wires on the Micro-switch? Or, what would happen if I shorted the wires on the Shifter Lockout push button? Would this defeat the lockout solenoid or are there other interlocks that will not work proper? Thank you for all inputs.
