accessories/power from fuse box S40-V40

I'm interested in installing an amateur ham radio in my S40. Originally I thought I would tap directly to the battery because the radio can draw up to 15amps. But first I want to ask if it's possible to tap into the fuse box? I think there are 15 amp fuses in the fuse box so I assume it's safe draw 15amps from there without going directly to the battery.

Does anyone have any experience in installing radios or other such accessories and using power from the fuse box?
