Hi Folks,
here's a question for the experts....
My ECC (electronic climate control) is misbehaving.
When driving from cold, everything's fine. As soon as the engine warms up, the heater starts blowing warm air and the cabin heats up fine. But then it doesn't stop heating on the driver side, it get's warmer and warmer, although the control knob setting is in the middle range. After some time, my feet are cookin' and all of a sudden the ecc decides to cool down. Now my feet start freezing for some time, until it starts again heating and so on. The passenger side acts normal. Air distribution is fine. A/C system is okay.
This is what I've done so far:
- Checked for fault codes, got 1-1-1
- Inspected and cleaned both interior sensors (the thingies with the fan)
- Checked air duct temp sensors left and right for connection and good fitment
- Removed driver side temp damper motor and checked flap for easy movement
- Exchanged the driver side temp damper motor with the recirc flap damper motor (also ran the learning mode afterwards, successful 1-1-1).
No improvement so far. The amplitude of the regulating circle is way too high (excuse in case this is a strange expression in English, I'm no native english speaker).
I would be very happy to get a hint....
Thanks in advance,
Matz
