S70 glt 1998
guys help me out please
my car is getting horrible mileage: 240miles/tank of 18 gallons = 13 miles/gallon. I know its winter and know about the winter mileage shpeel. I am here in metro DC its not that severe weather wise here. My bro is in upstate nY where that have real winters and gets 20mpg on his 1998 volvo s70 glt. So something doesnt jive
Car is under VIP certified warranty.
Bought car Dec 2001 with 40k miles
took car into shop feb 2002 to find out what was wrong with car since I was getting bad mileage back then. Car was still under factory warranty at the time. Check otu car and said everythign was fine. Fast forward to Feb 2003 - no factory warranty - I have the "certified" warranty in place now. Dealer says they will charge me for diagnostic costs to find out why car is getting bad mileage which they couldnt even answer back in feb 2002. AM I getting screwed over here? It seems as though Volvo screwed me over by saying back in 2002 that 240 miles/tank is normal since all diagnostic tests passed. Now, I know volvo s70 glt shoudl get MINIMUM of 18-20 mpg city driving. My dealer is trying to convince me that 13 miles to the gallon is perfectly ok. Dont know what to do.
