Help with sway bar links S70 1998

My swaybar links were identified to be in need of replacement. When I attempted to remove the passanger side, I found them to be under tension after the nut was removed....should I just "pop" them out? Does not appear to be a major factor in my suspension. Any advice with this project would be appreciated.
