Replacing the O2 senor 850 1994

Hi,

The check engine light has gone on several times in my 850 turbo, each time I pull 4-3-5 and 4-4-3 codes. I am going to replace the front O2 sensor. While I've done several interior repairs to the car with the info I've received from this site, this will be my first "under the car" repair. I've reviewed the repair procedure in my Haynes manual and in Bay 13 and it seems pretty straightforward.

There is one thing it says in the Haynes manual though that I don't understand, I'm hoping for some clarification from this group. Referring to the O2 sensor it says "The sensor is delicate, and will not work if it is dropped or knocked, if its power supply is disrupted..."

What do they mean by the "...if its power supply is disrupted..." part?

Any other tips on doing this repair or additional diagnostics on these codes is welcome.

Thanks very much,
Greg
