hi
our USA 93 850 GLT auto had been doing that lawn mower-syndrome thing, where it would not restart after it had been run just for a minute or less...
now a few months beyond that, it will sometimes just die while driving at speed. it will not restart for a long time. now this week, we cant drive it. it will start and run for like less than five minutes before dying. then it just wont re-start. usually after a half a day or so, it will re-start. there is no gas in the oil, bc after it stranded me last week on the highway, it was towed back and i changed the ooil and played with the wiring connections that are easily accessible. it ran for five minutes and has kept doing that since.
i have read thru the archives and heard of similar things, but no real consensus emerges. fuel pressure regulator ? i think its original, with 129,000. that on the fuel rail ? expensive part ?
i have been enjoying the reliability of our 940 with 190,000 miles...instead of the 850's snappiness.
thanks for any insight.
