It's been a long while since I've posted to this board.
My 99 manual T5 wagon has developed a new problem at 75K miles. Just recently, the engine has developed a very harsh feel from inside the car during idle and acceleration as if an engine mount has failed. The problem seems to be worse in cooler weather (makes sense as mounts are stiffer), but I don't think +50 degrees Fahrenheit here in Las Vegas is cold enough to justify stiff mounts.
It's been in the shop twice and the mechanic did eventually replace one of the lower pads. The mech swears the upper engine stabilizer mount, which I've already had replaced in the car twice, is undamaged even though it looks a little peculiar to me. And, wouldn't you know it, IPD's stabilizer mount won't work on my car (some of the 99's use a different mount).
My Volvo mechanic is at a complete loss. Has Anyone had a similiar problem? Suggestions?
Thanks!
