Be careful when buying from tire rack 850 1997

I've had good experience with these folks for the most part. I just bought my third set of snows on steel wheels from them. I put them on, took a test ride, and there was a vibration/shake coming from the rear--severe at 65mph. I took it to one of their "recommended installers" to see if maybe the tire just needed to be rebalanced. Figured I would just eat the $15-20 if thats all it was rather than deal with the hassle of returining them. Turns out the rear two rims were slightly egg shaped. We called tire rack, and they were very hesitant to fix the problem since the wheels had already been driven on. I.e. I probably hit a curb and was lying. Luckily, after much persuasion, they are sending me two new wheels (i don't fully trust them though, so I'm still waiting for the tracking number on the shipment...)

Lesson: When buying tire and wheel packages from Tire Rack, spend the $30 or so to have them put on at one of their "installers" in case they are defective. They do not accept returned tires/wheels that have been driven on.

I'm glad they are dealing with the problem, but I'm still pissed.
