Stolen V70-XC70 1998

I just got my '98 V70 T5 Manual stolen. I would have never thought that this was a car that thieves would target. I also thought the laser cut keys made it near impossible to get...

If anyone has any thoughts on this I would love to hear it.

Secondly I need a new V70, I was thinking about moving up to the V70R, are any years better than others? Is there something specific I should look out for?

Thanks.
