Last week I purchased a '99 XC with 44k miles which had routinely been serviced at Volvo dealerships. I thoroughly test drove the car before purchasing it. I also bought 4 new Michelin 205-65-15 tires to replace the original BFGoodrich tiress (same size).
The problem: After the car is warmed up and driving in hilly areas, when the transmission downshifts on a grade, there is a definite "thud" and slight vibration. Is this common with the XC? My S70 GLT definitely did not exhibit this downshift behavior.
Fortunately, the car is still under warranty....any comments?
