Any advice from someone who may have experienced this?
Went away for the holiday weekend and the trip down went smooth as glass.
The car sat idle most of the weekend and then the fun began yesterday when I headed home. When I hit the freeway on ramp, I began to smell a burnt type smell hoping it wasn't coming from my car. I then realized that I could not get the car above 45 mph and it seemed to be stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear. The smell was getting stronger in the cabin, so I pulled off onto the shoulder. Popped the hood and there was no longer any real strong smell. Everything looked fine, no burnt fluid, no leaks, no broken belts. Got back in the car, put it in drive and slowly pulled onot the freeway again. This time it went thru the normal gear shifts with no trouble and I made it the rest of the 100 miles with no problem.
What was up with that?? I change the AT fluid annually and keep everything else in good working order.
