Hello,
I have an '00 S40 and I had some minor bodywork done on the panel between the bumper and driver's side taillight. The paintwork was great, however they screwed up TWICE on applying the VOLVO letters over the panel. First time the letters were applied at an angle so it wasn't straight. Second time the guy tried removing some of the letters and reapply but the letters still weren't all straight and the "V" was off center. Now I'm thinking of just doing it myself! Some questions:
1) how hard is it to remove the letters? I assume some sticky residue will be left, any tips on removing this residue? Any danger some paint will be damaged, such as coming off, with the letters?
2) how hard is it to apply the letters straight and even? Why would a bodyshop screw up twice? Any tips for applying the letters straight?
3) anyone know the part# for the letters? I will have the bodyshop pay for the letters.
thanks!
