Car: 1997 Base 850, manual transmission, purchased without heated or powered seats.
Situation: In cleaning the interior today, I popped out the plastic covers on the center console where the seat heater switches would be (there was some grit down in the seam that I coulnd't clean out any other way).
Inside was a four-pin (female) black molex plug. It makes sense that this would be pre-wired for the sake of more efficient volume production, but... I also found an insulation-wrapped cable coming out of the carpet under the driver's seat. It went into two more molex plugs, the upper of which sprouts another black cable which goes up into the seat.
Question: Is there a chance that this carries power to a seat heater, or is is just for the driver's SIPS airbag? Would testing power on the molex plug under that cover tell me anything useful?
Any thoughts welcome, with much appreciation.
