Dealer told me today that Volvo has recommended on really hot days to remove the gas cap, wait 90 secs to allow pressure change, then put in the gas. There is no fix according to dealer outside of this.
Another customer (with exactly same problem) has stated that when this problem occurs (i.e. fuel overflows almost immediately when car is hot) he simply gets back into his car starts the engine then after a few seconds turns it back off again => I WOULDN'T EVER RECOMMEND TURNING YOUR ENGINE ON/OFF WHILE REFUELING.
Any comments?
Thanks,
Tim
