Well, here we are on vacation with an unhappy car. She's taking 10 to 15 minutes to get started every morning and about killing the battery in the process. Sometimes she turns over a little and then we just here the starter hum. Sometimes we here a clunk after she tries to start. Other times we just hear the starter hum. Then finally, after lots of patience and soothing words, she starts. I've tried using the gas pedal a little thinking gas isn't getting through and when she starts using this method, there's an obvious gas smell. I've tried not using the gas pedal and it seems not to want to start this way. It's a little like the driveway syndrome in that it seems to be the same symptoms, but we're driving it several miles and we're fine the rest of the day. It seems to only be in the mornings on starting her up the first time.
Any help is appreciated as I would like to have a happy car again. She does have 222k on her, but has been fine. Once she's started everything is fine. There are no error codes coming up! HEELLLPPPP! Cm
