to change to synthetic oil or not based on car mileage 850 1995

I have a 95 850 with about 340,000 km (or 215,000 miles) and have been using regular oil. I have read through many foums indicating the benefits of the synthetic oil. Does it make any sense to change at this point in my car's life.

I change oil overy 7000Km or 4200 miles now which is every 6 weeks. I am on the highway lots. At present my car is using about a litre us quart in that time frame.

Your thought are greatly appreciated.
