New O2 Sens. but still bad mpg. 850 1994

So I had pulled three codes (435-325-443) off my car last week and was also told by a mechanic that I needed to replace my front O2 sensor so I did (myself) and reset the engine light which has yet to come back on. I have driven 25-35 miles since then and am now getting 17-19 mpg (city streets) where as before I was around 22. Any Ideas. I was told by a friend who doesn't know very much about volvos that I should try reseting the MAF. Sound like an idea and if so how do I do that? Thanks ----> Stu.
