removal/ improving paint 'swirls' S70 1998

My 1998 Black T5 had a HUGE chunk of it's hood (paint + dents all the way down to bare metal) taken out while driving on the "wonderful" LA Freeways.

Rather than deal w/ insurance ( big deductible, and didn't want to spend big $$), I found a local guy who removed the dents, AND re-painted the hood for $200, which is a good deal around here...this was about 3 weeks ago.

The dents are gone, color-matching isn't too bad ( factory paint is still the best, of course!), BUT I do see a lot of "swirls/ scratching (probably from sanding before repainting?), not in direct sunlight, BUT ESPECIALLY in flourescent lighting (in my garage) when viewing from an angle.

Now I'm NOT a real stickler for "perfection" in the finish, but if anybody has any ideas about improving this situation?? I've tried ZYMOL ( from Germany) wax after washing, but still not much better...

I heard about some type of "clay material" that auto body shops use that supposedly removes paint imperfections.....somebody have any ideas what it's called, and if it would work on the entire hood??

Thanks,
HB
