shiftlock adjustment? '94 850T automatic 850 1994

Is there an adjustment for the shiftlock? The shifter will not move from the 'Park' position unless the shiftlock overrride switch is pressed. Could it be the cable is misadjusted, or is there a sensor switch that may have failed or needs adjustment? Once out of 'Park', the shifter seems to function as normal. Thanks in advance.
