'Degree-ing' camshafts 850 1995

Just curious, I notice by the Haynes photos that the camshaft sprocket's mounting holes are slotted. Looks like enough to make an adjustment of several degrees.

Anyone ever try or hear about experimentation with degreeing the camshafts? Haynes says to replace the mounting bolts "back where they were" so you'd need to rely on the marks left by the bolts when initially installed.

Not knowing the cam timing specs and not being in any hurry to experiment with my daily driver, I'm just having fun looking for technical information about the effects of changing timing using the slots provided. Seems if mechanical damage were a possibility there would just be holes.

I guess you'd probably get into ECU issues also.
