Volvo Anti-Theft WORKS! 850

After coming back home to Toronto after spending a couple days in Ottawa with some friends, I come home to a message from my father that the Volvo (an 855T heavily modified) was "almost" stolen. I start freaking out and try to call him. After all, the Volvo he now drives was and is my original Baby.

Supposedly, while out at lunch earlier today (Saturday, the 18th), both locks on the front doors were drilled, as well as the ignition. What they did was drill out both locks (scratching the paint in the process), opening the door, setting off the alarm (signalling lights flashing and horn going off), then opening the hood, cutting the line to the horn, then drilling the lock with the alarm still going off (lights still flashing). However, due to the surprisingly AWESOME Volvo alarm, they were unable to start the car. With the Volvo alarm set off, even with the ignition drilled, and hot wiring attempts made, the alarm held through. With out the key, or the key fob, they were unable to start the car, as with the alarm set off, the fuel and ignition were disabled.

Thank the powers that be, nothing was stolen. As some of the older regular board members know, there is quite the sound system in my baby. It appears as if they wanted more than just the sound system though. I have a feeling the R front skirt, rear spoiler, the sound system as well as the many numerous modifications I have performed were all wanted, and being in broad daylight, they didn't have time to strip the car.

The car is currently at a tow car impound lot with barbed wire topped fences, dogs, and armed security guards for safety, with my vulnerable baby. And starting Tuesday (Monday is Victoria Day), the car will begin repairs to the locks, ignition, and paint.

All I have to say is, thank you Volvo. And to the person(s) that attempted to steal my car, if you have been arrested before, you'll be seeing my face watching you get convicted and sentenced. Finger prints were lifted from my car, and the police are searching archives for matches as we speak. And if you haven't been arrested before, it's only a matter of time before you will be, whether it is for grand theft auto, or any other crime you commit, it's only a matter of time before you break another law that will cause you to be arrested. And when you do, and your prints are taken, I will get you. Face it, your arrest for my crime is an inevitability. Enjoy your freedom while you can.

BTW, according to the law, homicide is justifiable when protection of property being stolen is occuring. So are lethal anti-theft systems legal?
