Vacuum hoses and rubber elbows 850 1994

Hi

One of the things recommended to readers of this forum to remedy poor engine performance is to check the rubber elbows on all vacuum lines. One in particular seems to cause trouble, it is reputedly located on the left side of the engine, near the steering pump, and connecteds to the manifold. It is said to be hard to see, and most people don't even know it's there.

Certainly is hard to see ! I don't think my 94 850 turbo even has one. Where is it supposed to go and what was its function?
