Transmission slippage V70-XC70 2001

About two months ago I brought my car to the Volvo Dealer which at the time installed new software. The problem was that going around a turn at say 10MPH
the engine would rev to about 4000 rpm and the car would go nowhere. I have a 2001 v70 non -turbo. Keeping in mind that new software has been installed, today the same thing happened, going around corner, engine surged ,car goes nowhere. The scary thing today was that I was merging into traffic and almost got hit.
Is there a bigger problem than just software. Does anyone have any thoughts. Are there major tranny problems with this model. I appreciate all of your thoughts. I am taking it back to the dealer Tuesday. Thanks Mike
