1998 C70 Coupe Winter Driving (Canada) C70 1998

I am getting pretty close to making a decision to purchase a 1998 C70 Coupe with approximately 70,000km at USD$22,000.

I live in Canada and have the requirement to drive through pretty harsh winter conditions. I have been advised by the dealer that I will need to purchase winter tires. From your experiences in the winter, will the winter tires and the fwd give me all the needed power to get through some very harsh Canadian winters? What other things should I consider concerning winter driving and the C70?

On another note, I guess I am trying to ascertain what the reliability will be like for this car in general. For the most part, people on this bbs seem very positive on the C70 and believe that it will have a long life. What should I expect as my annual upkeep costs? The dealer is also thinking I could purchase the extended warranty for about $3,000 for three years (private deal).

I look forward to your insight and perspective.

Best regards.
