Steering problem coming from drivers side and another minor problem

Unfortunately I had a run in with a deer while driving in a local canyon- because these cars are such tanks, I am alive and my car is still running.I have a 1989 240 DL. However, since then there has been a problem with my steering. It seems that any time I want to turn (left or right) my wheel seems to shimmy and this causes the steering wheel to vibrate. There is also a baratone-like sound coming from the car when I make turns.Another problem caused by the deer was that my headlight was completely taken out by the impact.I found a headlight assembly but haven't picked it up yet...my problem is that I need every imaginable piece that has to do with the headlight- even the parts that attach to the body (black pieces) and help hold the headlight in. Does anyone know what these are called? To be honest, I am scared to take this to a mechanic and have to give my first born to them...I am just a student but love this car!!! Any opinions would be most appreciated.
