Thinking about a '94-95 850 Turbo...for fun... 850

I currently drive an SUV every day. Go ahead and flame me, but I do use it for off road driving on a regular basis. But I'm thinking about picking up a '94-95 850 Turbo because I've noticed they're quite cheap. It won't be my every day car since my SUV is still new and under warranty, so it's more of a second "fun" car. I'm looking to pay between $6-9,000, and that doesn't look like it's all that difficult to do.

A few questions...

Buying from an online auction? Am I crazy? If I can't drive the car or see it unless it's local, are there any things I should ASK about?

What mileage would you consider to be "too high?"

What options were originally offered in '94-95 on the Turbos? Does anyone have an option list or something they could post?

Air Conditioning... I live in the South and it gets VERY HOT here in the summer. From what I've read, it looks to be a potential problem. What should I look for since it's winter and if I find a local car I won't really be able to test the a/c like I would in the summer?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!!!
Andrew
