I tried to search the archives for this problem, but was only able to find a single vague reference from a 900 entry. I seems that this should be a fairly common symptom.
When I turn the wheels at low speeds, like turning into parking spaces or maneuvering about parking lots, there is a shudderthat occurs when there is pressure on the steering system. The shudder eases somewhat when the turn stabilizes. The shudder is also evident when turning the wheel while not moving at all, which leads me to believe it must be in the power steering system.
Any ideas what the problem might be, what it may cost, what options for repair, etc?
This better not be an expensive problem. My car only has 43K miles. Not exactly when I would expect a major component to blow out. If it is, I'm going to dump it on heads the nearest Volvo dealer.
