Keys won't come out of ignition! What's this? S70 1998

I just bought a 98 S70 T5. The weirdest thing just happened. I can't get my keys out of the ignition! The car will turn on and off and will get into park just fine. I remember pressing the "Shiftlock Override" button but it is really sticky. Doesn't seem to come back up/release. With the car off and the key in the "off" position, I can move the transmition gears from park to drive. It seems to me that this button is stuck and will not release the transmission to a full lock position, hence not allowing the key to be removed. Oh, the steering wheel can be moved in any direction while in park!

Am I right, it the Shiftlock override button the cause or is it something else? How can I remove the panel to release the damn thing?

Please help

Rolly
