I know you are supposed to do this after driving with the engine running.
Volvo in their wisdom couldn't have put this in the hottest most hard to reach place - a longer dipstick design would be no brainer in my opinion.

Impossible not to burn yourself.

Therefore - what should be a guesstimate on the dip stick with a cold engine?
